Peter Bruno
Trial Lawyer
The practice of law is in Peter’s blood. He is the tenth member of the Bruno family to become a trial attorney, following in the footsteps of his grandfather, Frank Bruno Sr., who began practicing in 1950. Born and raised in New Orleans, Peter joined Broussard Knoll in their Metairie office as an associate attorney in 2026.
Prior to joining Broussard Knoll, Peter worked as a defense attorney primarily focused on workers’ compensation and insurance defense. That experience allows him to view cases from alternate perspectives, anticipate opposing arguments, and craft the ideal litigation strategy for his clients. While at LSU, Peter double-majored in Political Science and Philosophy and served as co-founder and Vice President of the Philosophy Club on campus.
At the age of 17, while working as a lifeguard, Peter saved a one-year-old child from drowning. At 23, he stopped to perform CPR on someone he witnessed overdosing while driving by, helping prevent a fatal outcome. He brings that same instinct to his law practice; responding quickly, staying calm under pressure, and putting other people first. He approaches every case with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring no fact goes unnoticed, while maintaining the efficiency needed to resolve disputes quickly.
Peter is also a skilled oral advocate. In law school, he competed against top law schools nationwide as an oralist and brief writer in the 2024 Judge John R. Brown National Moot Court Competition in Seattle, earning near-perfect scores. He returned the following year as coach, where he further developed as a leader and mentor.
In his free time, Peter loves to lift weights, play racquetball and pickleball, and golf. He cherishes time spent with friends and family, enjoys watching sports and reading about economics and history.
